Saint Monica University Announces Leadership Team for Kumba Campus
Press Release (ePRNews.com) - BUEA, Cameroon - Sep 01, 2016 - Saint Monica University (SMU): The American International University today announced that Dr. Henry Eneme Ekah-Kunde has been appointed the pioneer Provost of the upcoming Kumba campus of the University. As Campus Provost, he will be accountable for quality professional education by leading the overall administrative and educational functions of the campus. He will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer as well as the Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs and that of Administration and Finance.
“The choice of the term ‘Provost’ is in keeping with the American higher education tradition, where some universities call the head of their branch campuses as such,” said Professor Januarius Jingwa (JJ) Asongu, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Monica University (SMU). “Starting a new campus is a challenging thing and one needs a visionary and entrepreneurial leader to handle such a daunting task. As Campus Provost, Dr. Ekah-Kunde will be responsible for the academic quality, operational effectiveness, staff development, and growth of the campus.”
“I feel privileged to be selected to start a new campus of the prestigious Saint Monica University Institute of Cameroon,” said Dr. Henry Eneme Ekah-Kunde, Campus Provost of SMU Kumba. “I will work closely with senior administrators, faculty, staff, and institutional partners to implement the University’s mission and vision as well as increasing enrollment and retention.”
Dr. Ekah-Kunde holds a PhD in Mathematics from Charisma University, British West Indies, and a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany. Before being named Campus Provost, he was the Associate Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Technology at SMU. He has over 20 years of work experience in diverse industries in Germany and Cameroon.
Other officials appointed to assist the Campus Provost are: Ms. Juliana Asahguebui, who holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and will serve as the Human Resource Officer; Mr. Bamidele Etta Enow, who has an MBA in Financial Management, and will serve as the Finance Officer; Mr. Princely Tongte, who holds an MBA in Banking & Finance, and will serve as the Admissions & Records Officer; and finally the Administrative Assistant will be Ms. Seraphine Orock. Most of these officials have studied and/or worked at SMU, which will help propagate the SMU culture at the new campus in Kumba.
