Histórico: Igualdad Animal Lleva Al Senado De México Iniciativa Para Que La Crueldad Hacia Los Animales Sea Un Delito Federal

​​Después de que la organización internacional Igualdad Animal dio a conocer la investigación Rastros de México, donde denunciamos innumerables violaciones a la Ley Federal de Sanidad Animal y a las Normas Oficiales Mexicanas, la senadora mexicana Diva Hadamira Gastélum Bajo presentó una iniciativa para que estos actos de maltrato y crueldad contra los animales, sean un delito.  28 de marzo de 2017, Ciudad de México.- Como parte de las acciones para detener los abusos documentados por la organización internacional Igualdad Animal en los Rastros de México, la senadora Diva Gastélum, apoyada por las senadoras Cristina Díaz, Hilda Flores, Lilia Merodio, Itzel Ríos, Anabel Acosta y María Elena Barrera, presentó en Sesión Plenaria del Senado una iniciativa propuesta por la organización que contempla una modificación a la Ley Federal de Sanidad Animal y otra en el Código Penal Federal de México para la tipificación del delito de maltrato y crueldad animal que incluya a los animales de granja. La propuesta se encuentra apoyada por once grupos de protección animal y una organización conformada por 99 grupos protectores de todo el país y pide que el incumplimiento de las normas oficiales para operar los rastros del país sea un delito, sustentado en que las violaciones a estas normativas suponen la peor tortura y crueldad hacia los animales de granja.  La senadora Diva Gastélum asegura que “se busca garantizar el cumplimiento de las normas oficiales mexicanas y proteger a los animales del maltrato y la crueldad”, añade “para evitar las situaciones como las que han sido documentadas por Igualdad Animal y siguen sucediendo y quedan totalmente impunes” y concluye “esta modificación es un paso fundamental para el avance de México en términos de protección animal.” Como se puede ver en la investigación realizada en 31 rastros municipales del país por la agrupación dedicada a prevenir la crueldad contra los animales,…
