Nokia Secures Major 5G Deal with Perfectum to Revolutionize Connectivity in Uzbekistan

Apr 25, 2024: Nokia has announced a groundbreaking 5G deal with Perfectum in Uzbekistan, signaling a pivotal advancement in the deployment of state-of-the-art 5G technology within the country, poised to redefine connectivity and foster future innovation.

As the exclusive supplier, Nokia will deliver a comprehensive end-to-end 5G standalone (SA) solution to Perfectum, encompassing radio access, transport, core networks, and applications for network automation, service orchestration, mediation, and charging. The deployment process will be streamlined to maximize operational efficiency, with the core network and applications deployed on Red Hat OpenShift, integrated into the Nokia Cloud Platform.

The commercial launch of the 5G SA network is slated for Q4 2024 in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, with gradual expansion to all regions expected within the next two years. Perfectum’s subscribers will gain access to high-speed, low-latency Internet connectivity services, along with nationwide voice coverage.

This strategic 5G rollout represents a significant investment in Uzbekistan’s future, aligning with the government’s digital transformation agenda and meeting the escalating demand for high-speed connectivity in the region. The enhanced connectivity, increased capacity, and faster data rates enabled by 5G will bolster various sectors, including remote working, telemedicine, and smart city initiatives.
