The update incorporates assistive technologies available as part of smartphone operating systems, allowing persons with disabilities to navigate and book services on the Urban Company app effortlessly. Leveraging the expertise of the Mission Accessibility team, the app’s interface has been streamlined to simplify navigation and service booking journey for users with visual impairment.

The update seamlessly integrates with ‘Voice Over’ on iOS and ‘TalkBack’ on Android – widely used screen reading software by persons with visual impairment. Non-selectable elements, such as text-on-image, have been audibly described to ensure comprehensive access and understanding for users. Additionally, users can effortlessly book their preferred service, select specific time slots, and communicate with certified Urban Company professionals.

Raghav Chandra, Co-Founder and Chief Product & Technology Officer at Urban Company, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing a seamless experience for all customers, including visually impaired individuals.
